wow.. has it really been 2 months since my last visit!?@! sheit! i really dont know where i'm taking this site dood. you've been keeping it alive while i've been slacking.. i really cant thank you enough. i think i should start doing something with the site to bring back some life into it. one thing i have done is remove those retarded ads (from clicksor) off the site. i dont need chump change anymore! more to come.

Reading all of that kind of makes me sad

But I understand where you're coming from. Let me know if you need any help with anything making the transition to "professionalize" this place! And dont let those government fat cats push you around!

Me...

Well, life has got the better of me and I haven't been much into updating this site anymore, let alone posting on the forums. Not that I don't want to, I do have my reasons. The most important reason being that I now work for the government, and as such, I need to dis-associate myself from some of the content of this forum, specifically the... shall we say... "naughty" stuff!! Not that I think any of this would come to bite me in the ass, but I work in a division where some of the content here is highly frowned upon. I'd rather be safe than... well.. jobless!

The Forum....

So begs the question... whats going to happen to the forum? Well, some of the threads may disappear, but they will still in fact "be there" if you catch my drift. Just trying to figure out how I'm going to do that. The forums will revert back to their original purpose, a "bookmark" of technical solutions and examples for me to refer to when needed.

Where we're headed.....

Who knows? Who cares anyway? My passion is web development and always will be. But my goals for the site from last year and the years before have all changed. I don't care about page ranking or how many pages I have indexed on Google. I don't care about exchanging links with other people or getting as many visitors to my site as possible. At this point, I'm satisfied that I know HOW to do it. So who knows. I do have plans to slowly re-design the main daremedy.com site and update a few of my web applications. I think the best way to put it is... expect the entire daremedy.com domain, forum included, to "grow up". Damn, I sound like a 60 year old man! But anyway, thats that.

I have noticed that some of the spam posts, especially in the "All Business" thread have been getting kind of disgusting. A lot of porn posts with some rather suggestive titles are being spammed into that thread. I'm doing my best to remove them as quickly as possible, but I cant police the boards 24/7, so this is an apology in advance. Granted that there is some "adult" material on the forum already, but that's left behind closed doors and is rather restricted. Its hard to prevent this kind of spam, maybe we can create/find a script to take care of it. But again, sorry for any titles or content the spam bots add to the forum.

Based on the fact that a number of spam users register through .info, .ru, and .by domains, we will no longer allow anyone to register for these forums using an email address belonging to any of those domains. Most "normal" people use hotmail or gmail or other valid email providers, so this shouldn't be a major inconvenience.

I must say I'm impressed with Clicksor so far. I've been earning at least 7 cents/day since I've started. And thats just with ad impressions alone. You get paid 0.003 cents per ad impression, so at least you get "something" everyday so long as a lot of people view your site. The few clicks I've gotten have been about 11 cents each. Its pocket change for now, but once I learn how to optimize it, I should be able to earn some decent profit. Hey, better earning a few cents a day then nothing at all.

Let me know what you think about the ad programs you are using now. I might look into using this on my personal site on a small scale. Could do with an extra bit of income.
